This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Disable SPMgr.exe?

    Using MSCONFIG I disabled "SPMgr.exe" from starting when Windows loads.

    It uses 8100-9000KB so I figured why not.

    I googled the process and I found that some say it is a non-essential process

    and then I read it was an essential process.

    I disabled it to test. So far the computer charges fine -- runs off the battery

    fine -- and works off AC just fine.

    Anyone mess with this .exe before?

    I think it's related to the Sony Power Management.
