I am not sure if this is some sony made bar, but it's used for the hotkeys at the top of the keyboard I are really annoying me. Is there a way to disable them?

This is caused by a process. Run msconfig and see what you can find in start up items.

This is the Sony Switch Mode program. I'm not a huge fan either, but if you disable it you can't use the buttons for anything, and I hate wasted hardware :). I think you can program them to be media controls at least.

you can make them smaller...so it looks like a tiny little floating mac OS dock... i suggest doing so. Otherwise, as Dagatech said, it's wasted hardware... honestly, i prefer the quick launch buttons, it keeps my desktop clutter free.

FYI, you know you can change the applications on the bar by dragging and dropping a shortcut into it. also, to make it smaller, there is a minimize button on the upper right hand corner of the dock...

You can click on settings, and make the bar auto-hide
