I have had my Sony Vaio VGN-FS790 for nearly two years now. The headphone jack has slowly gone from troubled to non working. Then as my jack stopped working, my notebook speakers have also stopped working. For a while it was a matter of pressing down on the jack, well, slowly but surely that has also stopped working.

I bought a USB headset and the device cannot install because there are no drivers. Both Sony and Logitech say there is nothing they can do.

I bought a USB sound device today, so at least I could have head phone sound. For some reason i am getting no power to the device. All other USB devices work, such as wireless mice, keyboards, and presentation tools.

My attempts to apply pressure to the headphone jack has neatly broken it. What can I do? No sound is no fun.

    Thanks.
