Do Sony read this forum at all? Do any manufacturer read this board at all? I wonder if all our complaints fell into deaf ears

Yes, of course they do. I doubt our complaints fell into deaf ears because you can see that newer laptops have incorporated quite a few of the features that a lot of us have been asking for, so I would that they do take into account on forum users' views into consideration to help them make new products that cater to the needs of the general public. Of course, they would never be able to satisfy everyone because everyone's preferences & needs are going to be different.

I like to use do in this case because I like to refer Sony as they in a later sentence. "Do Sony read this forum at all? They don't seem to be." If I use does, I would have to say "He doesn't seem to be" or "she doesn't seem to be" which is incorrect because there are more than one person work there or "It doesn't seem to be" which sounds awkward or I have to mention Sony over and over which sounds repetitious. I just use do to keep consistency with the pronoun. They call it Agreement in grammar lesson.

notebookreview.com = notebook forum, not grammar forum...

and i doubt that sony uses NBR much, other than perhaps small amounts of market research for future products. they're too large... but that's awesome that alienware has reps here.

    Grammar forum lol! xD

Yeah, I actually think that there are people in many of the corporations that are probably just hired to do internet research all day about what people are saying about particular laptops made by the manufacturer and stuff. They look at the complaints and then try their best to fix those, but sometimes it is not always possible due to many limitations with laptops.

I think Sony probably would listen/read if we use Japanese... :p

I am sure they collect feedback through different channels. In fact, I was looking at the TZ 505 Limited Edition pictures earlier and I just realized how much TT would look like a TZ 505LE if violet trim is used instead of silver/chrome. I think it is a reflection of how well TZ 505LE is received by the audience and how many crazy old VAIO fans that kept asking for a come-back of the violet.

In case you don't know what I am talking about, here is the link to TZ 505LE...

Well I know for a fact that at least one Sony employee reads these forums. I would not be surprised if more Sony employees read these forums. There's a lot of information here.

Let's hope that one employee tell his or her boss about our complain with FW290 CTO not to have HiColor at 1600 as an option.

If people from Sony actually read these forums I wish they would consider making a power brick + battery in one. Having to carry around the adapter and power cords is keeping portable/ultra portable laptops from actually being...well, portable lol. It's a hassle and adds weight to the laptop.

Is there a reason why no one has come up with a adapter-battery yet?

I'm hoping to get a Z soon, which is why I mention this here (actually I mentioned this before in another thread too haha). I would really love to have something like that when I get my Z :p With a retractable power cord!

Or, keep the power cord but make it with something like the fast port (the one they use with Sony Ericsson phones) to connect to the laptop. This way if someone trips over the cord your laptop won't fly off the table, the fast port will just snap off and the laptop will be safe.

What does you guys think ? Is it Possible? Or should I just keep dreaming? lol

quick release is possible... just look at the macbook. i think it uses magnets to keep it connected. very cool.

otherwise, i'm sure if they had the affordable technology to do so, they'd get rid of the power brick altogether.

No one from Sony reads this forum otherwise the most basic complaint of not having recovery discs shipped with the laptops would be the first thing they rectify. how much is that? 1-2 dollar/euro maybe? They already have them (hence ordering from the site) they just don't put them into our new laptop boxes.

The powerbrick+battery idea is a horrible horrible idea, IMHO. The powerbrick is seperate for heat and size reasons. If the laptop had a powerbrick integrated, it would A) cause the laptop to be much hotter internally as the power brick generates heat and B) cause the laptop to be larger/thicker because the bricks need to be a certain size.
Until some tech comes out that has zero heat/mini power supply, i prefer my power bricks outside the notebook, thank you very much. Laptops with powerbricks built in are called All-In-Once PC's. Some thin ALL In Ones use notebook components and have a built in power brick and they are huge compared to notebooks....

Good god. This was explained in another thread.

Sony had an error with their disk supplier, they screwed up the first batch of disks, which made it so the first few shipments of SR, Z and BZ's didn't have the disk in the box, but made it possible for you to go out and get them for free shipped to you.

From what I know any SR, BZ or Z built for the business channel now will have the disk in the box, but there will still be a few lingering boxes out there that you'll have to order. It's not a hard thing.

That's fair enough, I didn't know that. I am just annoyed that the 4 Vaios I have didn't come with the recovery discs.

+1, hard to believe that sony didn't get something so basic right.
