    Do all Sony SZ's have the fingerprint reader?

    I'm going to buy an SZ soon and I'm looking at two models: VGN-SZ340P9 and VGN-SZ340P6. The first one has the 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo and the second has the 1.83ghz Core 2 Duo. I want to get the first one (VGN-SZ340P9), but when looking at the specs for it, it looks like it doesn't include the fingerprint reader for some reason. I though all SZ's had this, am I wrong? Or maybe its just something they left out of the product description?

    This is a good question, and I hope someone more knowledgeable about the SZ series will answer it, as I would like to know as well.

    I believe all SZ models feature fingerprint readers. At least, all the SZ models I have seen in person, have them.

    All the pre-configured SZ models I've seen in person have fingerprint scanners. I believe there's an option for it when you customize too.

    The fingerprint isn't included on all of the models. The SZ340P6 does, you are correct, but the SZ340P9 does not. It's also missing a webcam and bluetooth. The SZ340P10 does, and it's the same specs but has the Fingerprint, bluetooth, and webcam that the SZ340P6 has as well.

    In the UK the SZ4 1.83 Ghz version doesnt have the finger reader. I found out the hard way :p

    I still like it tho.

    I have a SZ340P which has neither the camera nor the finger print reader. I did not need those features so I did not look for the models that had them!

    No. Not all do - my SZ90 does not. In Japan, you can do a custom built-to-order SZ. I ordered my SZ both without Bluetooth and the fingerprint reader.

    All ones in the USA I have seen have the fingerprint reader and I think even on the USA CTOs it's not an option. Just checked - it isn't. It's mandatory.
