Do our Sony laptops support S.M.A.R.T. hard disk health monitoring, or something similar. I've done a lot of searching and can find nothing.
I have a CW.

It is the drive that needs to support it, not the laptop itself. Find the model number of the hard drive and look it up to see if it supports SMART.

Well.... yes and no. Yes, SMART is all about the drive. I doubt any drive made now doesn't support it. You just need a program to query it. But, many laptop BIOSs will do that. My Thinkpad checks it at boot and will warn me if something is wrong. So laptops themselves can support it as well.

I have a Seagate Momentus 5400.6 ST9500325AS, and Seagate supports S.M.A.R.T. But unless the Sony CW knows how to tap into this, it can't send me alarms if something is wrong. I'm trying too find out if they do and how to access it. Or if not, if they have a different feature that can help me out.

I see what you are asking for, now. Even if the Sony software doesn't do this, there are third party options that do. They run in the background and monitor the SMART data.

Does Vaio support S.M.A.R.T or similar
