I'm thinking of buying a VPCSE1V9E and would like to know if anyone here owns one and in that case what you think about it? Weaknesses? Strenghts?

I guess that is a very specific model of the SE.

The owner's thread is very informative and if you have the patience to read the whole thing you should be able to see most of the pros/cons of the SE.

I bought mine based on the experiences posted in that thread and have been very happy so far.

From what I can tell, the model you are looking at has a faster processor than mine (base i5 vs i7) and bigger hard drive (500gb vs 640gb). I have a Bluray player and also Windows 7 Pro 64.

I upgraded to 8 gbs myself. Easy and inexpensive.

Summary of what you'll find in the thread:

It's really light for the size, has decent battery life (4-5 hours with 50% brightness, web browsing), screen is very bright and clear, has better viewing angles than the average laptop but has an issue displaying red (shows up kind of orange).

    Hope that helps.
