    Hi Folks.

    I am following the Z model closely since a few days (waiting for a price drop) and what happend about 1h ago????? Z models dropped by 1000 bucks????
    Uhmm?????

    VAIO Z HiRes starting @: 1194.99???
    VAIO Z LoRes starting @: 1044.99???

    If this is the case my order goes in as soon as this button is enabled :D

    Btw. in case someone missed it (at least in US):

    Btw 2. about the 64bit vista, apparently Sony gives you a choice now between 32 bit and 64 bit with almost every model except: TT, Z and FW all others are available with preinstalled 64-bit OS (at least in US!!!)
    So maybe a few more days and Z should be also availabe with 64 bit
    My guess 1 more week :D

    really?? i so could cry now
    even with the exchange rate being terrible that is still so much cheaper than here in aus! but they don't ship to aus......
    edit: can't see that price on the sony website actually as christine mentions an error?

    the Z16 here in aus did drop $200 online i think it must have been just this week

    I just went to Sony.com and the High res model when you click customize pulls up an error page and says to try back later although the other customize unit does not. Sounds like someone made a mistake and they are trying to change it back now. If you want this insane price, you better jump on it quick.

    You can't order it. Even though the customize button goes through, if you try to check out after customizing, it says, "One or more of the items in your configuration is Out of Stock."

    Plus, it says ship date is uknown.

    I agree. But I still have hope. LOL :D

    Actually the mail in offer (look at the newegg flyer) and the 64 bit story is serious though.

    @BBGus: I dont see it as an "insane" price. I still would call it reasonable :) ... but still no button is enabled and ship date is "unknown".
    And there is no error message here ... still the 1194.99 price here ... just went there.
