It says it does in this review. Is that true, FS users?

I didn't see one when I reviewed it.

Apparently its 6pin but in the 4pin style small format. So if you get an adapter to the large firewire connector, you dont need an external power source.
Thats what it seemed like the review meant anyway. -
No, that's wrong. There is no 6-pin disguised as 4-pin. Sony did develop a 4+2 pin for their X505, but you won't find it in FS.

Yeah I have the 4+2 in my current machine. It is for those laptops that need to connect an external cd drive without a separate outlet.
So, looks like the FS has the standard 4 pin then? -
Unless you can find the missing 2 in a 4+2 configuration, which I definitely did not see (you can look at the hi-res pics in my reviews and see if I missed it.), then it is a standard 4-pin data-only firewire.

I have FS. There is a slot said S400 (very tiny) if that's what you mean with 6pin firewire. I never use one.

Do you know what is the Firewire chipset type of the Vaio products?
:budget: -
It is the 400 unless you mean something else, then I don't know
Does the FS series have a 6-pin Firewire?
