Title pretty much says it. I have the VAIO SR190 and want to upgrade to 8GB, but I have seen conflicting information if it will support 8GB. Comments?

Hmm... I am not sure how to check that. But I do know that it has an Intel P8600 processor.

I looked into it more, I believe it is the Intel PM45 chipset, which according to Intel's website supports 8GB... But I contacted Sony support, which is always annoying with how long it takes to get an answer to a simple question from them, and they said the VAIO SR190 line only supports 4GB. I guess for some reason they limited the RAM capacity.

download the free program "cpu-z" and it will tell you on the "mainboard" tab up top exactly what chipset you have. how much memory do you have now? of course in order for your computer to see all this memory..you must have 64 bit OS. i was able to get my higher model SZ6 to read 8gb in bios and system information!!

I have been trying to get an answer on here regarding the same thing with my SR290. However, seems like nobody has an answer yet. It was found to work on an older Z when using the right voltage/brand of ram, but nobody has tried it out on an SR yet.
