I've read previous posts warning previous models of the Vaio Z (before the new Z890 release) used SSD's that did not support the Trim command.
Now that Win 7 is here the OS supports it, and the Win 7 NTFS file system supports it. With the new Z series release,
a) Do the Samsung SSD's in the new Z890's support it?
b) Does having two Samsung SSD's in (I presume software) Raid 0 still allow Trim to work?
c) If not, what are people using to keep their SSD array from slowing down once every sector has old data marked available by the OS but not electrically erased?

Here are the answers:
a) No. And while Samsung may issue a firmware update, given the Viao's method of communicating with the SSD's, it will not be easy to update if/when a firmware update is issued.
b) No. The Raid controller is software, not hardware, and there's nothing out there (that I can find) that addresses software Raid support of Trim...but adding a software Raid controller won't help regardless if the hardware controller doesn't support it.
c) I don't know. Does wiper work? Perhaps most people just aren't addressing it yet.
Does the new Z890 SSD support Trim?
