I have Windows Vista Upgrade CD for Sony laptop. This is the CD that Sony sent you for free as part of their Windows Vista upgrade program. The CD wants me to upgrade the BIOS before upgrading to Vista.

    1. If I remove Vista and reinstall XP, is there anyway that I can downgrade the BIOS back to its original version? I have Sony SZ381P.

    2. Will XP work with the new BIOS that is designed for Vista? Is there any problem running XP with Vista BIOS?

No, there is no problem to run XP with the new BIOS.
And downgrading isn't a problem either.

Thanks. Where can I download the older version of the BIOS? The current BIOS version I have is R0091N0. I tried esupport.sony.com but the only one available for download is the newer one for XP.
