    Hi all,

Tried downgrading my VAIO to XP instead of Windows 7, all drivers downloaded from Sony website worked except one, the wireless card. It just wouldn't get installed.

If I try to install the Intel driver, it would say this driver ain't compatible with my laptop.. And if I install the Atheros one, it "Check System Information" then "Installation in Progress" then nothing.

Tried restarting after that, still the device shows as unknown in the Device manager.

Any one came across something similar?

    Thanks

Did you get drivers from here ?
As sony eSupport show only one version of XP I assume it is 32bits and you can try 4 drivers from intel.

Be sure that Sony Notebook utilities is installed before installing the driver from Sony website, as indicated here :
    Why downgrading to XP ?

I do really regret wasting 3 bloody hours with Sony support. Yes, I had obtained all drivers from esony, everything worked except the wireless.. However, your Intel link, first driver downloaded, viola its working.. Thanks for you.. As for Sony.. it was awful because after 3 hours on the phone, they told me well sorry, then we don't support XP.. And I tell them .. On the website you provide the driver for XP.. And that was with 2 different representatives.

Anyway.. Thanks a lot for the Intel link :)

Why down grade.. I just dont like Win7, even though its been 9 months using it now :)
