Hi to Sony (RIP) Duo 13 owners. Long time review reader / lurker, first time poster.
If anyone else is having problems with the pen continuously falling off the stupid holder on the Duo 13, I have a sorta answer... or at least something that's less likely to fall off.
I made a mashup of an SD card model on the web (thanks, Arian DESIGN | By Arian Shamil ) and my interpretation of the Sony clip design so that you can slot the pen into the SD card slot instead. Attached is an STL file in a ZIP you can download and print on your 3D printer. I did this thing in about 5 minutes but it works and I can't see how I could improve it further without a lot of extra effort... and I have better things to work on in my spare time. I've dumped it here in the hope that someone finds it useful.
Notes & Warnings:
- If this breaks your notebook / SD slot / etc obviously its your problem. But if an all-powerful invading alien chokes on it and dies, then I demand full credit.
- SD card slots are not locking designs by intent (the click spring action is simply to aid card ejection) so this stays in place by friction.
- SD card slots on notebooks are usually about as well known for their external load bearing capabilities as their ability to juggle whiskey tumblers while singing "Call Me Maybe" in Tuvan style. So you should not put undue pressure on the pen or pull on it in weird directions, and obviously if you use this then you shouldn't carry or store the notebook with the port edge down.
