I'm looking for a laptop and I don't know which series to get the E or F series. The purpose is for multimedia like to watch movies, listen to music, looking at photos, photo and video editing. Only gaming I would do is with some SNES or Genesis emulators.
Which one should I buy?

Neither of those look particularly appealing given the price....but the E-series looks to be the better of the two.
Why are you choosing 5400rpm Hard Drives? -
Well, the 17.3" is larger when you consider your multimedia needs, but would then be less portable.
Rather than buying the largest HDD from Sony, get the smallest available and then buy the largest/fastest aftermarket. Will probably end up being less $ that way. Just immediately make the recovery discs and then use them to install onto the new HDD. -
The laptop I'm getting will pretty much be a desktop replacement.
Sorry for all these questions. I'm a newbie when it comes to laptops.
Will I notice a difference between 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm?
Is switching out a hard drive easy on a sony laptop?
Where's the best place to buy another hard drive?
I notice the E series can have a 1TB hard drive. Can I fit a 1TB hard drive in the F series? -
7200RPM is a little snappier than 5400RPM.
Currently, 1TB drives are only made in the 12.7mm thickness and that F series does not fit that. You could get up to 750GB though. The optical bay, however, does fit the thicker HDD's. Quite a few of us have removed our optical drives to enclosures and added another HDD into the bay. That may be more than what you want to do though it's not hard to do.
Switching out the hard drives is quite easy and you can shop for some great deals on newegg.com
