I occassionally gets this "electric shock" from vaio's CR laptop I just bought. Does anyone have an idea to stop this? Should i attach thin lcd protector over or would scotch-taping it be ok?

which part of ur vaio is giving shocks?

i have a vaio sz and the aluminium parm rest area gives me shocks.....and sony had provided me with a 2 prong cable in the adapter.

i read in some thread here & gave a call to sony.....they are sending me a new 3 pin adapter........which should take care of it.

many people's shock problem was solved with it.

This is probably caused by a faulty ground connector in the plug.
