Hi guys, just replaced my FW11 with a Z11 and I'm looking for an extended battery. Could you recommend me some and where to get them from? I'm looking for something typically over 6 hours (would a 9cell do?).

I've the Core 2 Duo Model with the P8600 2.4 Processor.

I've heard mention of "Sony VGP-BPL12", is that model any good?

Thanks in advance for the help,
    Michael

You sure your new Z is a Z11 (the VPC series)? If so, it should come with a i series CPU, not a P series Centrino...

If you are indeed talking about the VGN-Z, then the VGP-BPL12 is the only extended battery (that plus your standard, aftermarket fakes).

The extended battery has 9 cells vs the standard battery's 6, so you are technically looking at a 50% increase in battery life. But the cost is the rather bulgy shape (search the net).

I only have the standard battery and that lasts me 6 hours of word typing, easy. I hear th extended one will last 7 hours of 'normal' use; that to me should translate to about 8 to 9 hours of document typing.
