1.)I'm planning on buying an SZ in about 2 months and I was wondering if anybody on the board has tested out how long the SZ can last on an extended battery? OEM/Thirdparty or Sony?

2.)And regarding the battery life. The one that is on sale at my school is similar to the SZ120 without the camera, bluetooth or fingerprint reader. I don't really need those and the laptop is priced at $1700. I believe it's some SZ140P05 or something of that sort. Would not having the camera, bluetooth, and fingerprint reader increase my battery life since they're not hardwired to the usb2.0?

Ok 1) im not sure about.

    2) Not by much, your camera stays off unless its started (thus doesnt drain battery). Bluetooth is the same thing, turn it off if not required. The biometric reader cannot be turned off so It does drain battery, but I doubt its much. I really like all these 3 things and believe that they really make this notebook the way it is.r

The main problem with battery life is the Intel Core Duo + Windows XP, which still hasnt been "officially" resolved.
