Hi, just wondering if I buy a sony vaio where the maximum memory
is 200gb and 2gb RAM just wondering if I could buy an external
hard drive and attach it to my sony vaio for more hard drive space?
Let me know thanks
-
Yes, any computer that has a usb port can use an external hard drive.

i'm going to buy External Usb WD HDD 500 or 750GB, what steps do i need to perform when i would connect it to my SZ? i mean do i need to format an hdd or other things.
-
It comes with instructions FYI.

Ok so even if the Sony Vaio that I have IS NOT upgradeable anymore to
anymore gigabytes whatsoever by the Sony company, I can still buy an
external hard drive and attach it to my vaio for more space? Even though
Sony Vaio will not upgrade it anymore past 400gb? or past 4gb?
2. Also, with any external hard drive, what is the maximum that I can
upgrade my vaio to? 600gb? That would be awesome. Do you know of
an external hard drive company that I can buy 400gb worth of external
hard drive? How much is it? What is the link to it if you know? Thanks
answer all thanks -
I have fz21m and i buy this. http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.j...a5e3110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD&locale=en-US Then i put the spare hard drive in external usb case.My score in vista from 4.9 disk data transfer rate now goes to 5.4.

And external hard drive has nothing to do with the limitations of the notebook hardware. It's completely different. I believe they make external drives up to 750gb or maybe even more. Heck, you can always buy more than one if you need that much space.
Depending on where you live, you can get them from regular electronic stores or online at newegg.com, or zipzoomfly.com, or tigerdirect.com -
You are very knowledgeable but I have another question for you, so
If my vaio only has like 200gb max, and if I buy a 750gb external
hard drive, will my computer be like lightning speed fast? Like will
it make a big difference in speed wise? -
Umm, hard drive space has nothing to do with how fast your computer runs, especially if this is an external one. What makes a computer fast are the cpu, ram and hard drive speed, but not hard drive size.
-
How about - if you took a shoe and put it on your head? Would that make it go faster? 365 :ninja:

You can go to hell because I wasn't talking to you.
Why are you being rude to me. My mother always told me that
if you don't have nothing nice to say, DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL
I don't know anything about this stuff that's why I asked.
Ok now Adinu is there anything on the market that I can buy external
wise that will make my computer go faster? Reply soon Adinu thanks -
Nope, not really...

i have a tiny willy

Hello forumers.
I was wondering, if I partition my disk drive into 2, will I have 2 drives, or one drive with the space cut in half?
Thanks,
Clint. -
Your mum also said, "i don't do anal" - but by the smell of my bell end, i'd beg to differ.
 -
Thats extremely rude pells mother. Keep that **** away off the forum
Regards to the hd, rule 1 of all externals is have 2 externals. those things will **** u in the bastard unless you back up your ****. -
You also asked about adding RAM. You can't add RAM externally like a hard drive that you would just plug in. You'd have to buy more RAM and physically open up the computer and put it in. I wouldn't recommend this for you - 2gb of RAM should be enough. If you decide you want more, have a professional do it or simply buy a computer with more RAM. Adding more RAM could potentially increase the speed of your computer. Adding an external hard drive will not - it will only add storage.
I suggest, since you are so concerned with speed and storage, to buy the best computer you can afford. Once you buy a computer, give it a try to see if it supplies you with enough storage and speed. You'd be surprised how much storage 200gb is.
Good luck -
ACtually owning a sony with the built in memorycard reader you could always buy a fast MS pro duo for that extra bit of ram. Sure it wont be as fast as built in ram but this is the closest you can get if you dont want to crack the comp open. (Its also a minimal speed increase in any case if you already have 2gb +)

maybe. what's the shoe's brand?
you can buy a usb and use it for ready boost if you have vista.
non external hardware: software like a good defragger (ultimate defrag), registry cleaner, ccleaner, turn off indexing, tweakers like yamicsoft...
