I have both the Kensington 120W AC/DC adapter and an extra Sony adapter. The Kensington brick is lighter than the Sony brick and is perfect if you travel a lot and want to use automobile or airplane power ports or if you want to charge both your Sony SZ and another electronic gadget (cell phone, PDA, iPod) simultaneously.

However, the Kensington is quite a bit more expensive than purchasing an additional Sony power adapter, especially when you add in the cost of a Y splitter and a tip for a PDA, for example. I paid $99.69 + $6.45 shipping at Provantage but the Kensington dual-charging cable Y-adapter was an additional $14.95 + $6.20. I paid about $10.00 at CompUSA for the P3 tip for my HP h6315 iPAQ Pocket PC.

I use my extra Sony adapter to power one of my two SZ docking stations, so I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging the power supply at home and at the office. I was able to buy the Sony VGP-AC19V10 AC Adapter at Provantage for only $16.20 + $6.80 shipping.

At this significant price differential and in the absence of a huge weight difference, you might want to purchase an extra Sony brick, unless you travel a lot, in which case I would spend the extra money for the Kensington.

Thanks for helpful info. I bought the 70w Kensington in advance of the computer and then found out it wouldn't work. Ugh. I heard that the Targus is also good.
    thx

Mea culpa! Prices at Provantage have really changed in a couple of months!

Here is the Provantage link to the Kensington AC/DC 120W power adapter: http://www.provantage.com/kensington-33197~7KNSA019.htm. It looks like they have increased the price by $7.00 compared to when I purchased it 2 months ago! :(

Here is the link to the Sony VGP-AC19V10 power adapter: http://www.provantage.com/sony-vgpac19v10~7SOVA04T.htm. Wow! They must have made a mistake in charging me only $16.20 for the Sony (I still have the invoice on my computer)! They have raised the price to $69.74 and it is backordered!

Anyway, that makes the Kensington much more competitive as a second or third power supply. :)

The Kensington 120 is the smallest. Much thiner and lighter, although a bit wider. Kensington does not officially support the SZ but the same stock AC adapter is used on the Sony A series and Kensington does have a tip included for that series Sony so it should work fine.

Edit 6/21/06 - Now a Smart Tip #27 is offered as part of the Sony 3 tip set and specifically supports the SZ

i have the 70 what igo and it works fine for both my SZ and powerbook. no reason really why the kensington 70 shouldn't work although i also have the kensington 120. interestingly i dont see a huge difference in charge time

it won't damage the powerbrick itself will it?

and also, does anyone know where to get kensington 120 in hong kong?

I have an iGo Juice 70 that I have not been able to get to work with my SZ-150. I've tried both tips 11 and 12, but the laptop doesn't seem to recognize it. I love the size and it worked beautifully for my old T-series, so I'd like to continue using it; the everywhere 130 just looks too big and heavy, though! Any advice on getting the juice70 to work?

I have an iGo Juice but because Sony said a 70W won't cut it I got a Kensington 120 which now has tip #27 available for the SZ.
