I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NR11OE with Vista Home Premium.

My wireless just shuts off by itself sometimes. The light beside the switch goes off too. Sometimes if I turn the switch to off and back on it turns back on. Other times it will turn right back off by itself after just a few seconds. Sometimes I actually have to turn the computer off and back on. (restarting doesn't work) Sometimes it will work for hours without issue, but sometimes it will turn off over and over in rapid succession. I am so incredibly frustrated by this!! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Find out what wireless card you have and go to the manufacturer's site and see if they have newer wireless drivers out. If that doesn't solve the problem, it could be due to hardware issues too.

I have the same problem and no the new drivers won't help too. that's a power management issue. Try device manager and find your wifi card (intel 6205 on my case) and right click on it and select properties. move to power options tab and de-select allow computer to turn this device off to save power. Save and exit.

    Hope this helps.
