The Sony website is awful and google was little help.
Can anyone shed some light on what these model numbers mean?
The first laptop (115FM) is at BestBuy
The second laptop (116FX) is at Microcenter
/B I think means black.
Thanks.
PS I can't trust the listed stats on their (BBuy and MCenter) websites, there are obvious inconsistencies. And the Sonystyle website looks good, but is near useless.

I found the 116 (but in silver) on the Fry's website. Looks like the only difference seems to be that the 116 model has a 7200 PPM hard drive. Hope that helps

looks like the 116 has 4GB ram and the 115 has 6GB ram ?

Sorry, must have missed that. I went into my local frys and the yellow product display label also says 4gb for the 116. These model numbers are indeed confusing.

The only difference I see, is that the 116 has a 500GB Serial ATA ( 7200 rpm)
The 115 has a 500GB Serial ATA ( 5400 rpm)Last edited by a moderator: Jan 29, 2015 -
