Hi, i purchased a VAIO F-Series laptop last september from sony center (UK), got it home fired it up everything was working fine apart from the charge socket, when i plugged the charger in it was a bit wobbly but i just dismissed it, but now it seems the socket has a little crack on it and the wobble has got worse and the pin on the charger sometimes gets really hot to the point where i cant touch it, plus it will only charge if i move it around to a certian position.

So who do i contact to get this fixed, the store or sony customer services and will it get fixed under warranty?

    Help is much appreciated.

Call Sony customer service. It should be covered under warranty unless they have some reason to think you dropped it or caused the damage yourself.

thanks for your reply jpride, i contacted customer service but ran into a major problem, he asked me for my S/N number which i gave then he asked for my details and he said that my laptop has been registered in a different name which he wouldnt tell me, so i contacted the store where i purchased it from, told them whats happening he contacted them...

but what i think looks suspicious is the fact that i might have been sold a second hand laptop, when i bought it the box was open, the laptop lid had a few scratches on and the charge port was a little loose which to i all dismissed (dont ask me why, because i dont even know).

so has anybody got any tips on where i go from here? i dont really want to pay over £1,000 for a laptop that was advertised as new, im lost

    help much appreciated.
