Ok I'm looking at purchasing a Sony Vaio soon, but I'm having trouble deciding between these two models. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thank you! :D

Sony Vaio VPC-EB17FX/B $969: (This version is not available on SonyStyle, it is on Amazon. The main difference is the 1920-1080 screen on an E Series.)

    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VPC-EB17...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1269463044&sr=8-1

    Core i3-330M
    4GB DDR3 1066MHz
    500 GB HDD 5400 RPM
    15.5" LCD 1920x1080
    ATI 5470 512MB
    Blu-Ray player

    or

Sony Vaio VPC-F1190X $1054: (Customized on SonyStyle)

    Core i7-720QM
    4GB DDR3 1333MHz
    320GB 7200 -or- 500GB 5400 HDD
    16.4" LCD 1600x900
    Nvidia GeForce 310M 512MB
    Blu-Ray Player

    or

Sony Vaio VPC-F1190x $1204: (Customized on SonyStyle)

    Core i7-720QM
    4GB DDR3 1333MHz
    320GB 7200 -or- 500GB 5400 HDD
    16.4" LCD 1920x1080
    Nvidia GeForce 330M 1GB
    Blu-Ray Player

The F is the nicer computer and has a nicer processor, but lacks the 1080p unless I pay the $150 upgrade for 1080p and a 330M. I like both of these notebooks. Suggestions?

it really depends on what you are going to do with the notebook. the f's will be much faster and better for gaming.

Well maybe a little gaming here and there but mainly schoolwork and music production. I didn't want to go over $1,000 but I can get an F for right at $1,000 and just look past getting the 1080p.

My next question is, with a 1600x900 resolution on the laptop, will I still be able to display 1080p on my HDTV via HDMI proportionately? Because when I try to do this with my current laptop the HDTV's screen looks stretched when set to 1080p.

    This one is amazing:
    Core i7-720QM
    4GB DDR3 1333MHz
    320GB 7200 -or- 500GB 5400 HDD
    16.4" LCD 1920x1080
    Nvidia GeForce 330M 1GB
    Blu-Ray Player

i7, blu-ray, the 1gb video card... I paid that much for my FW 15 months ago. Go4it!

    I will go with F

1: the Vaio logo on the cover is better than E (print)

2: the green light on the side

the screen resolution has nothing to do with the hdmi output resolution. if you look at the marketing specs. it tells you the highest output for the LCD and HDMI and vga port if it has it
