Anyone know how Sony handles repairs like this? My numpad + key fell off. Don't know how/why, as I never use it. But it appears to be broken as it won't click back on.
What to do? Hopefully they will mail me a replacement key or something... ???

I've had a similar problem. Right before I contacted Sony I noticed on their support webpage that keyboard damages are NOT covered by the warranty! However I insisted that they have a look at it as my key just popped out while typing and it turned out one of the clips was broken!
I ended up replacing the key myself... didn't want to send my laptop just for a key...
I am unable to find the exact quotation from their website but it was written somewhere... -
Thanks, everyone. I talked to Sony; sounds like they are going to send over someone to fix it. No argument so far.

Update,
Sony sent a guy out to replace my keyboard. Overall, pretty happy with the (US) warranty experience.
The guy did tell me that he had a lot of service calls on Vaios. Mostly keyboard issues, the power plug, or heat.
Every time I have spoken to Sony, they wanted to make sure I had the new F11 bios to stop overheating. They must be getting "burned" by this.
F11 key busted - warranty
