I thought it would be fun and interesting to compare performance between the two - especially as the F sports the Quad chips vs the Z's duos and the super fly SSD in the Z.
Firstly - my F1290X
Processor - i7 840QM
Ram - 8gb
HDD - Seagate Momentus XT 500gb - crystal mark doesnt really show up the ssd element.

LOL, I have a F12Z (i7 740QM and 8GB) with an Intel Postville 80GB SSD (replaced the 500gb 7200rpm drive) and a Z12Z (i7 620M and 8GB with quad SSD, 4x64GB). Both with the FullHD screen and nVidia GT330 1GB.
From day to day use the Z is much much faster because of its insane SSD-raid-array. Even compared to the intel SSD. But when editing raw images with camera-raw the F shows its quadcore power and pulls ahead in performance.
But because the Z is not much slower then the F for those tasks but faster in every other way i'm going to sell the F -
Be great if someone could post a crystal mark score for a top of the range Z for some comparision.
