Is the white/gray exterior difficult to keep clean?

How happy are you with the battery life?

    Thanks.

The Sony FE 590 is the best laptop I have bought so far. I have had 3 laptops in all and much experience with other laptops as well.
    It doesn't even get dirty.
The battery life is splendid, even with the standard battery, it lasts a LONG LONG time..

    My FE is FANTASTIC

It's the first laptop I have ever owned, and it's bloody marvellous! I have an Oceania FE, an 18GP (T2300 Core Duo, 512mb DDR2, 80gb Sata HDD, NV Go 7400)

It runs cool, is quiet, has an extremely crisp, clear, and vibrant screen, has a really nice keyboard, easy to use touchpad, nice layout, it's thin, and hell sexy.

I don't find cleaning it an issue, seeing as it never gets dirty. Although the screen likes to attract a lot of dust, possibly just my house that does that to it.

With the WindowsXP USB Patch (The actual hotfix, not the regfix) I can get ~3hrs 30mins outta the laptop with standard battery, and considering the size of the screen, that's pretty good.

It's also very fast, that is, after you reformat and get rid of all of the sony bloatware :)

FE ftw...although it did come with a bunch of crap loaded on it. Vid card could be stronger, but since it's quite and really fast. I'd buy another Sony, you get what you pay for, the Benz of laptops.

good lappy, I just wished it had a better vid car, more keyboard controls, bigger resolution, and longer batter life. Just small details that could make it even better.

after much deliberration and help from these forums i have decided to order the FE tomorrow. for me it was a choice between the sz and the FE but after seeing the two side by side i didnt like the look of the sz screen surround and the FE screen quality was much better. ive heard too many tales about problems for the sz the FE seems to have far fewer.

Is this correct that the FE screen is better than the SZ screen?
    Thanks.

What is the Windows XP USB patch? What does it deal with?
Where can I get the download, or is it already on my computer?

From what I can see, only certain FEs have the Hi-Color display, correct?
Many have just the ECO version, correct?

I'm considering purchasing an FE670G from Circuit City for $1249.99 which is the best price I've been able to find. According to the Sony website, only the 670 and 680 comes with the Hi Color screen (standard). And suggestions or opinions on my decision will be appreciated. I plan to use the computer for general purposes and primarily internet use. Thanks!

This is a good deal but not really cheaper than Amazon when consider sales tax.

I just wish it had a slightly faster processor...
