i just noticed my keypad has a slight bump on the right Alt key area.
and when i press around the keys of that area, the keypad kind like "sinks" or flexes prooving that bumpy area.
compare to the left side keys of the keypad, it feels very solid, perfectly lying flat, even with a hard push of the keys.

are your FE keypad the same or mine might be bent (because of the CPU/RAM heat underneath??

    it was on the 60C

so is your keypad also flexible when pressed around the right Alt area?

No my keypad seems fine around that area. All the keys and stuff seem level. My Fe sometimes gets to 59-60C but drops shortly afterwards.

Invest in a cooling pad maybe?

My SZ340 (which I returned) had a keyboard that "bubbled up" in a couple of places ---- it was just a crummy keyboard. Sony was unable to fix it after I sent it in for returns (or just did a piss-poor job of it!).

Don't know if that contributes to your question or not, but it *did* sound pretty familiar, from my experiences.

elizabe: did sony fixed it under warranty or you had to pay it? even though it might come back the same, if they can fix it under warranty then i'll try give a shot

here's a pic about the issue. notice the right side of the space bar and the right Alt key area is bumped up (that's where the processor is located??).
