    I placed my order on the 22nd and it still says out of stock... I emailed them to see why and they sent me a email back basically saying if i wasnt satisfied I should cancel my order....

    A few of the components are probably out of stock. I've seen people say that ordering the built-in camera makes a difference. I placed my order on March 1st, and when I called them yesterday (to see if I could change the installed OS), the customer service rep said that a work order had been placed for my unit already. The website estimates the shipping date for March 9th.

    i refuse to order from the sony website, the fact that sony has been lieing to its customers and not giving them rock solid information aboiut when they will receive their notebooks is just a wheeee bit over the top for me...

    and sence the 590 cant be purchased outside of sony.com ...they lost a sale :p (oh well)

    Politely requesting a date for shipping seemed to help me. They said that they were unsure of when they'd have supplies in stock (yes, I ordered with the camera), so I thought of cancelling - but found out the next day that they were working on it then!

    It's now at home, though unfortunately I am not... I'll put up a review two weeks from now.
