Actually- despite my thread complaining about chirping after installing new speakers- I don't think the built in sound for the speakers is that bad. Ok, it could do with being louder- I just blare them full blast when I want them- but I find them extremely clear. I can quite happily listen to music playing with only one hearing aid in. May not sound like much, but that does say something for the clarity of the existing speakers.

try the speaker manufacturer's site? maybe they have new drivers orother booster software? I'd be interested in this too.

You can play the sound files using "media player classic" (just search on google). This has an option to boost sound.

I've been looking for an external program too as I find the headphone output on my S not loud enough when connecting two headphones for example. Couldn't really find anything except Media Player Classic and now I use that when I need the louder sound output. The good thing about the program: It doesn't need to be installed (just a *exe file)

the problem is not the sound level, they're just poor quality, its not clear, no bass, treble etc
