    Hey everyone!

I just wanted to share, for the curious, that I upgraded the processor in my FE600 Series ( FE690 ) from a T2300E Core Duo to a T5600 Core 2 Duo . I searched for days before I did this to see if anyone was successful with a CPU upgrade for this unit. I couldn't find any info, so I wanted to share for other out there that may be interested in doing the same.

Make sure you upgrade the BIOS first to the latest revision. I'm really sorry I forgot to take pics. I was just to darn nervous about the disassembly of the unit seeing that I couldn't find any docs with instructions.

In any case, it works! :-D

Basically, remove the battery, then remove all the screws from the bottom of the laptop, except the three under the battery. Remove the hard drive. There's also one screw under the memory cover, and one inside the hard drive bay. You'll then have access to the CPU.

    Good Luck!
