    hi
    i reinstalled xp on my sony FE790, I installed the nvidia driver for 7600GS,which was available at sonys website along other drivers.
    Now still im getting a maximum screen resolution of 1024. How will i get a better screen resolution. I can't paly games at higher resolution.

    Whats the problem?

    What do you mean 7600GS ? your GPU is a GeForce Go 7600 (with no prefixes or suffixes).

    Try reinstalling the driver. It should be 1280x 800
