    Hi all

Recently I decided to upgrade my VPCZ13C5E HDD version with SSD, I bought the FPC-217 cable to add the SSD without removing my HD from DVD caddy

I read from http://forum.notebookreview.com/son...vaio-z-advanced-menu-bios-67.html#post9240425 that it's possible to use TRIM with Z1, so I thought about add 2xSSD

I finally got the modded BIOS from CPL0 (alias Dufus) after that discussion: http://www.win-raid.com/t96f16-Need-help-modding-BIOS-for-Intel-Raid-ROM-module.html
(dunno if I can link another forum, I saw it done hundred of times, If I couldn't pls tell me and I remove it :) )

what I got now is the last R3031C3 BIOS for Z1 with advanced BIOS mod from pyr0* and the new Intel RST option ROM 11.6.0.1702 modded for 2822/282a RAID controller to support TRIM for our VAIO

I decided to buy a single 256 SSD cause I dunno how to restore my BIOS in case of brick, so I DIDN'T TEST THIS ROM, but I spent a lot of time trying to have that modded BIOS and I know other ppl was looking for it, so I post it in case someone more experienced than me wanna do some test.

    --- Modded BIOS ---
(I suggest to don't use it if you don't know what you are doing)

P.M. Did anyone tried a RAID with the HDD version? even without TRIM... I'd like to ask a couple of things :)

Has anybody tried this? I got a Z11 with the triple SSD I could really use TRIM on. It would really extend my Z11's usable life.

    z11 life... kind of...hard

we don't have windows 8 support from sony.

What's the status of this bios update???

Have we got trim working on the Z1 yet?

I've got two new SSDs coming soon to put in my own VPCZ13C5E, am very interested to get them working as best they can in it.

    TIA
    Rich.

The manufacturer of your SSD most likely has a utility that does this for you. I replaced my HDD with a 2.5" SSD from Intel, and the Intel SSD Toolbox works great.

Tried it. It doesn't do what we need.

I was wondering what the implications of running the two M550 SSDs unraided, C: + D: ... would gaining TRIM offset losing RAID0?
