I had got a VAIO NS15G a few days back with Vista Home Premium pre-installed.

I have just upgraded to Vista Ultimate. But after installing the FN Keys for volume and Brightness are not working.

After installing some software from VAIO website, it was under support downloads, dont remember the name, the Volume key is working perfectly (fn+F3 and F4)

But brightness is not working. It shows the brightness metre on pressing the keys but doesnt change or adjut the brightness.

    What should I do?

I suspect you installed stuff in the wrong order...

(Missed out maybe a library too?)

There is a specific order in which utilities have to be installed on Sony laptops.

You can get it from the Sony support pages.

I'm a bit stumped - they don't make this information available for the NS as they don't offer an XP downgrade...

I think I'll ask a mode to move this to the Sony Forum...

I did not downgrade to XP or I am getting it wrong?

You didn't, but on the SZ where they offered the XP downgrade they supplied the paperwork for the order in which drivers are installed.

If I were to guess its the same for Vista on an upgrade.
