    this is remarkable. How can sony offer such a great laptop as the FS and not allow their customers to in the future upgrade to 2GB of ram.

    No I dont want the S series. I need a 15" screen. The A series only comes in 17" and Im s h i t out of luck.

    I think I will have to go with the chunky dell 6000i.. HELP

    I love sony laptops.

    Not sure here, but I'm pretty positive you can upgrade to 2 gigs or RAM if you so desire. Just remove the 2x512 sticks and install 2x1GB for 2GB of RAM. It's just as simple as that. Of course, you'd be losing $$$ for not being able to use the 512MB sticks, but heck, when 2GB becomes standard, they'd be worth virtually nothing anyway.
