Ive had my bluray fw21m laptop now for about 3months now and i recently converted a bluray to x264 with handbrake, but it took about 48 hours to shrink the 38gb down to a more modest 16gb.

I noticed a few days later that my cpu was 100% usage even by just opening a browser and when i closed it the cpu would stay at 100% and the fan was blowing hot air like a hair dryer until i closed the laptop.
I even did a factory reset and it was still the same.
So i contacted sony tech support and they agreed that it was either the cpu or cpu cooler that had gone faulty and they arranged dhl to pick it up for warrenty repair.

So i wanna know if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them, and should the fw cope with intensive x264 encoding for long durations.

Im pretty sure alienware doesnt warn its users not to play intensive video games.

And maybe its vista thats eating up so much resources and cpu usage.

    Thanks in advance.
