    FW 3650 only 256mb on Canadian Version?

    Is there anyway to get 512 on it? This is sad :(

    that seems to be the case on the pre built models, who knows, maybe the CTO will have a 512 one, but then there is no CTO even available for pre order. I called the sony store and the sales guy knew jack, even tried to sell me an older 180D model.

    question is, is the 256mb of ram ddr3 or ddr2? I mean, the 3470 has also 256, granted it has a 64bit bus vs the 128 in the 3650, but still. perhaps with the economy going down the tank, sony canada may not even offer a CTO 290 :/

    that's not what I meant, i meant that it would not be in sony's favour to sell the 512 here since the demand may not be that high and would not warrent the 512 being sold here.

    you can always call sony and ask, or try your luck at a sony store.

    the store said it comes with 128 kilobytes of ram. i hung up in their face.

    hmm well it looks like I'm going to have to contact the media person at sony again to get some clarification again. bah, idiots working at these stores.

    Is the 512 of vRAM even useful? Seems to me like overkill.
