    Hi all,

The FW has a CCFL screen even if it's hi-color, full hd, right?
Notebook check says it's 357 nits! Is that really the case, b/c I thought the Sony Z would have the best screen and it was something like 280 nits. 357 is just ridiculously bright and the brightest that I've ever heard of.

Can anyone comment on the 1920x1080 hi-color screen vs the Sony Z's screen?

Also can anyone comment on the fan noise? Is it audible when surfing the web, etc and not under load?

The FW's 1920 x 1080 screen really is really, really, really bright. I run it on the second segment of its eight-segment brightness display. There's just an absolute TON of brightness, if you want it.

I actually considered the Z -- but when I looked at one in the store, I was absolutely NOT impressed with the screen. Now, perhaps it was turned down all the way, or perhaps it would be just fine in "normal" lighting, but it sure turned me off. Meawhile, the FW next to it looked GREAT.

The fan noise on my FW378J/B really isn't "noise." The fan is essentially always "audible," but just barely so. I mean, "the fan is running." So you can hear it. But only barely so.

until you go in a quiet room, and lower the screen brightness you screen might start making a big humming noise.
