I recently bought FW 190 and used it for a week - but with my usage the back of the Lid has got few very small and minor scratches - I wouldn't have cared about it -- but now I do - because I am going to return this laptop to Sony Style warehouse and actually get a FW 390 --- which is a super sweet deal and also comes with Blue Ray Read/Write.

I just wanted to know, if anyone know how can I buff up or do something to get rid of the scratches on the back of the lid.

They wouldn't care about the scratches. But what reason are you going to say for the return? Sony doesn't accept returns without a legitimate reason.

I just told them -- i changed mind. I want to buy a Fw 390 -- this system is not what I was looking for.

But from what I have heard - if there are scratches - they would actually refuse to accept/return the package back to me or charge a restocking fee.

Since it isn't "as new" when you return it, since you have scratched it, it seems that a restocking fee is fair, should they decide to take it off your hands.

what is "recent" to you... if it was a certain time ago than it may be too late to return... (not 100% sure on their policies)
