I comleted a factory restore on my FW, now I cannot connect to the internet.

Network Connections only shows LAN and Bluetooth options. Wireless mecha switch is on, Smartwi utility shows the wireless LAN is on. Of course, status is disconnected.

I can't find any wireless networks around me, including my trusty linksys G that would connect flawlessly prior to the restore.

    Thanks for any help!

Have you checked device manager to see if loaded properly. Suggest you try downloading the driver from Sony Support and try to re-install that way.

Then tell us more, because if that is all you have done, wireless should be enabled by default. Was it functional BEFORE you did the restore? Did you do anything AFTER the restore? Does it show up in device manager?

    problem solved! thank you!

device manager had an esclamation mark on the network controller, so I uninstalled it. I then downloaded the three Intel drivers for my model, launched smart wi, and got to choose and connect to my router!

    thanks again!
