Is anyone else who bought an FW in the past 45 days frustrated with Sony for offering the FW with a better graphics card and monitor resolution for cheaper than we paid for it?

I changed the title of your thread. Please avoid putting such a generic title.

    Thank you.

Well, I got my FW140 for $999.99 CDN but I know what you mean. When I bought it, I accepted the fact that Sony would not be offering a better video card on the FW.

I wanted a laptop good enough for gaming and the ATI HD3650 would have been perfect but I accepted that the HD3470 would be sufficient. Then, Sony releases the HD3650 in North America just like 2 months later and I've been having buyer's remorse ever since. :(

i'm in the market for an FW and excited about the updgraded video card, but i'm opting for the 1600x900 screen. i think the full HD resolution will be too small on a 16.4" screen.

It's always wise to wait if you can and not jump onto something right away unless you really need it.

Yes, well unfortunately I needed a laptop for school in September and I was thinking of holding out for the new Macbook Pros. If I would have decided to wait for the new MBPs, then I would have immediately went back to the FW2xx series but my old laptop had a good run and in no way could it hold up for another 2 months (screen hinges broken, overheating, battery lasting only 20 minutes, etc.)

I'm going to buy an Fw Series in the UK where the ATi 3650 has been since launch.
    :p
Sadly my budget only incorporates an ATi 3450, but that will be plently for me, practically a non gamer.
    Egg on my face :D
