I just received my Vaio FW-190 CTO in the mail Friday. I started working on it yesterday. I removed the HD and installed a WD Scorpio 320GB (7200rpm) and then used nLite to slipstream SATA drivers into my Windows XP w/ SP3 install disc. The XP install went fine, and now I'm installing drivers.

I'm using PhilFlow's "Windows XP SP3 on Sony VAIO Z - Clean Install Guide" as an order for how to install drivers. He lists the Audio driver as the second driver to install after the chipset. There is a Sony drivers page for the FW-190 and it lists XP drivers for everything except Audio, they only have an Audio driver under the Vista section.

I posted in three different FW threads last night trying to avoid starting my own post, but no one responded, and now I can't finish working on the FW. I don't want to skip the Audio driver and go back to it later incase there will be conflicts.

Basically, if anyone knows what are the correct Windows XP Audio drivers for an FW-190, please point me in the right direction. I would appreciate it.

    Thanks.

I think there are 2 drivers needed, one for the Realtec Audio chip and the other for the HDMI Audio. As for the Realtec I think any of their later XP drivers for HD Audio should work just fine. Did U try it?

As for fnding drivers for the HDMI Audio, that might be more difficult but then again, you can always output the sound via the Realtec Audio output... I think...
