I've looked hard at the Vaio series and feel either of these would fit my needs.
I just don't know which would be the better machine.
Any thoughts out of these three?
    VGN-FW270J/W
    VGN-FW139E/H
    VGN-FW140E/H
    Thanks for any input.

Are you getting your FW from bestbuy (those the exact FWs on sale on their website right now)?

Well, the 270J/W is nice. Good CPU, big HDD (though only 5400rpm), blu-ray and 4GB RAM. The downs would be the lack of the dedicated ATI GPU, the fact that the Blu-ray drive is a read-only one and (the biggest one IMO) the ECO screen -dimmer and with more narrow viewing angles compared with the superb dual-lamp FullHD display. The $1049 before tax is good if you can get over those little minus points.

The other 2 versions are a bit too old. If you don't a really amazing deal on any of them (they're currently advertised around $900 on bestbuy) you should avoid them. They also have the bad ECO screen.
