    Hi all
This is my first post in what seems like a great forum .
Forgive me if I am not up to speed with forum etiquette just yet .
I have searched for an answer to my problem but it seems there is a monumental amount of battery problems .
I have a FW11 which has not been used for a while as it has had a broken DC jack connector casing . I have taken it upon myself to try to get it up and running again. I have managed to take the machine apart and glued the casing temporarily . I will do a more permanent repair if I can resolve the battery issue.

My problem is that the battery is not detected at all and the machine will only work with the lead plugged in.
Before commiting to buy a new battery I want to determine that it is definitely at fault.
Firstly can I run the machine with the battery out and check any of the terminals with a meter to see if it is charging? If so I can I then assume that if there is a charge current then the old battery must be goosed.?
    Any help greatly appreciated

    Vin
