    Hi all,

I am the proud owner of a VGN-FW11S VAIO, but I seem to be having a couple of issues with it.

When I play a HD capture in a .mkv (either a 720p or 1080p file) container on my notebook through a HDMI cable (whether set to 720p or 1080p in settings) into my Samsung HDTV (whether in the 2 x 1080p ports or 1 x 720p port) it appears to have a slight pause every 10 or so seconds. There is no loss of sync with video or audio just a millisecond pause of them both...just enough to cause me irritation!

Also, has anyone had any issues burning a Sony branded DVD+R (single layer) on the UJ-220s writer that comes with it?

    Thanks,

    QLN.

Hi ascariss, thanks for your reply.

All videos play beautifully on the laptop, without the annoying pause.

It's just that the videos look better on a 46" 1080p than the 16.4" 900 reslution monitor.

I have also tried various players, from WMP to WM classic, through to VLC and PDVD BluRay and the WinDVD BluRay that comes as the package.

I have tried it on 3 seperate cables (one that cost £7 and one that retailed at £50).

I have tried it on a restored VAIO partition, and a bloatware free install.

    Any ideas?

Do you have the same problem when playing real Blu-ray disc that you bought from or rent from the store?

    Good thinking...

I shall give that a try tomorrow.

    Thanks,
