    Hi,

I was just about to buy an FW11ZU (UK), but noticed that some european sony sites have an FW21Z which has higher res screen and bigger HD, whilst all other specs are the same. It is also at a lower price than the uk FW11Z.

Does anybody know if sony are likely to release the FW21 in the UK anytime soon?

    Thanks.

I just got an FW11ZU because the FW21 is due out!

That higher resolution screen would be too much of a pain in the retina's for me.

I'm a little surprised that the price has gone down though! You might just find that the UK price will be inflated, just like everything else is in this poxy island.

It is not only the resolution and the bigger HDD.

The new FW21Z will have a better GPU.

    ATI 3650 with 512MB DDR3 instead of 256MB DDR2.

I agree with both posters. I'm not that keen on the higher resolution, but I quite like the 512mb of DDR3, despite the performance being sucked up by the extra resolution to some degree. The 500gb HD is nice as well, particularly at 5400rpm instead of 4200rpm. I won't hold my breath for the potential price drop though!

Anybody know when the FW21's will come to the UK?

Actually, it looks like the 500gb in the fw21z is also 4200rpm  I suppose the higher density of the 500gb drive will improve performance slightly, but no cigar there...

Seems odd that they'd put such a slow disc in a relatively large machine (presumably plenty of room for a standard 2.5" HDD)..? Are you sure this isn't another Sony typo in their marketing blurb?
