Hi all, got my laptop yesterday and the first thing i did was make the recovery disks. Bought some Sony dvd-r disks and after about 15 mins a message appears to say that the disks couldn`t be created. Rang Sony support today, they said you need to use Dual Layer dvds for the FW series. I bought the said disks and they don`t work either  Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Simon

Have you tried DVD+R Single Layer? That's what I used for my FW. And try to use brand name disc such as Maxell or Verbatim.

Thanks Hendra, I`ll try that. The Dual layer dvds were TDK, so a good name I thought. TBH I`m nore than a little miffed that such a high spec machine seems to have issues doing the simplest of tasks, doesn`t bode well for the future.
    Thanks

I myself used single layer dvds since I had bo dual layer dvds around the house, took 3 of them and TDK from costco.
