I wonder if there any other resolution other than 800x680, 1020x720, and 1920x1080.. Sometime 1920x1080 is too small, I try to install ATI catalyst manager, but the resolution is still the same..

Anybody have other way, or there is only 3 resolution. ... !!!!

there are only 3 resolutions using the ati catalyst manager, but if you hook up an extra screen, via hdmi, there are a whole bunch of resolutions to choose from, at least that is what I noticed when I hooked up my fw to our bravia.

Both the resolution 1020x720 is really crappy, it's not even full screen. There is two black bar and the left and right side. So it's even usable. The 800x600 is the same.

So the only resolution we can use is Full HD 1920x1080. That is really bad for a FullHD screen with limited resolution.

The FullHD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 on a 16.4" screen is way too small. Such a screen resolution really strains your eyes! Why did they have to get rid of the option for a 1600x900 Hi-color screen?

Perhaps installing the newest modded ATI drivers would help. I didn't get any new resolutions in Display settings for my 1600x900 but that's because I already had all the available ones BUT I did get more widescreen resolutions available in games compared to the factory ATI drivers.

way too small fro you perhaps, others do not see it that way, and I am one of those people, the 1920x1080 resolution is fanatastic and I wouldn't change it to anything smaller.

Jimmieppc did you jack my sig and avatar?

Sony puts these "Full 1080P HD" stickers on their notebooks that can output to 1080P by HDMI, but their screen may not necessarily be 1080P. They put these on the Vaio Z models and Vaio FW models for instance.

Misleading I know, sneaky Sony. :)

Is there any way to get the 3650 to output 1360 x 768 to my Panasonic plasma display?

Also, I haven't searched yet, but I was hoping to find a quick workaround for outputting Blu-ray to my external display. New software?

Go to Vaio Control Center, Display, HDMI Resolution Setting Configuration and you can select from there. You can only select this through the HDMI cable, not VGA.

Wow, thanks a lot. Interesting that that resolution is available in the Vaio Control Pannel and not on the ATI Catalyst control panel. You would think that the control panel for the GPU would have more resolutions available.

Interesting. On mine, the 1080p resolution is greyed out. I've never tried the HDMI so I don't know how it works. I'm actually hoping to get an HDMI cable in the upcoming weeks. I thought it would be greyed out because maybe of the laptop's resolution and when you connect it to a 1080p TV, it would be available.

I haven't got an HDMI cable yet to try the output res but my TV is a 32inch 1366x768 LCD so I hope I'll be able to get that res out of my FW. There was a post in the FW owner's thread about getting more screen res but I can't remember the page or the actual solution. If anyone can help out it would be great.

Yes, I did Hijack the avatar from you.

Other question. I try to install 8.12 catalyst driver for Vista Ultimate 64 bit, after installation, it tell me restart, after restart. Nothing happen. I don't have any icon on my desktop, nothing associate with ATI control center.

Am I doing something wrong here.. ? I did, unstall the driver from Sony, and install ATI, but still nothing.. Any help?
