You may extend near the end of the 90 days.
The International Warranty is part of the basic original warranty package for certain models. If you purchase additional coverage it will be in the form of an extended service plan.

Rehan Gohar,
The unit will come with a 90 day warranty as all refurbished units do, and the International Warranty will be in affect for that time as well.
You have the option when ordering the unit while online to purchase an extended service plan.

Hi, I have a question about the standard warranty that comes with A refurbished sony vaio SR series laptop.
I travel a lot and spend 80% of my time in the UK and i wanted to know that if something was to happen to my laptop will i be able to send it to the SONY Center in UK rather than have it shipped all the way to US? I have had problems with refurbished Sony Vaio's in the past and im a bit uneasy about buying a refurbished system from Sony. (First time i turned on the laptop my hard drive was showing 3 partitions one of 3GB one of 8GB and the other of 21GB whereas I ordered a 100GB HDD with my SZ3 Series. and when showed the laptop to a technician he opened it up infront of me and we found out the speaker cable wasnt even plugged into the motherboard!I'm not sure if it was my bad luck or if Sony thoroughly checks and tests their systems before they authorized it as refurbished)Anyways, I've decided to give Sony another try

Hope Customer Care is as good if not better than Dells!
And please tell me what would be the procedure for extending my warranty and/or if I will be able to extend it with a UK warranty after my standard warranty nears to an end
