I'm playing a online game (Cross Fire) and suddenly it shut down and can not turn on, when I press power button, nothing happened, no any led or power light on. Adapter I guest is ok because it is still work (I see the light on it is still on), maybe the power supply die or ... the main board die..I don't know... I'm US I hear my friend said the cost for repairing maybe more expensive than you buy new one ( He said 75$ per hour), maybe I bring back to my country for do some repair

BTW, I would like to know how to remove the skin (machine cover), I mean I want to see inside of this machine if somethings wrong...... I removed maybe all of screw but I can not take the skin in bottom off.
    Thank you!

I would assume that the 8400GT GPU in your laptop has probably died. Someone else should come through soon and tell you what to do since I am not entirely sure.

First, I don't think this is an indication of a NVIDIA failure. If it were the graphics chip issue, the machine would still power on. There are several guides here for disassembly of the FZ.

You can find more info if you use the Google Search Forums option in the drop down at the top of each page. Search for "FZ disassemble" without the quotes.

The battery is the green blob on the left, but to disconnect it you unplug the connector on the right, labled "RTC Battery Conn.". I would leave it disconnected for a while, an hour to be certain that any capcitors in the circuit have a chance to discharge.

Oh so I should unplug the connect point between red+black line and the white base right ? Ok, I tried to do it before but It's so hard, I scare that I'll break the connection or the motherboard as well
Thanks so much, I try it now and ask you after if it doesn't work :D

Actually under the 8400 series failure it is entirely possible that the entire GPU will die and the notebook won't turn on. It is exactly what happened to me about a year ago.

The two white colored pieces come apart from each other, the lighter one should slide out to the left from the darker one. There may be a small tab you need to push down on to allow the two to separate. I can't tell from the photo, not enough detail.

You should be able to take your left thumb and index finger and put the fingernails from them into the crack where the two connectors come together with your thumbnail just above the second "T" in the word battery and your index finger thumbnail in the corresponding slot at the top.

That is the first such report I have seen where the laptop would not power on. I have been following this very closely as my machine is one of the models with that GPU. Not saying you are wrong, only that it is NOT the common failure mode. Most times it powers on, but there are all sorts of visual artifacts on the screen or you get a video driver BSOD.

Yes, that is the part that needs to be unplugged. There may be a small tab on top that you must push down on as you slide the plug to the left.

See my previous note about where to put your thumbnail and index finger nail then wiggle it ever so slightly up and down parallel to the motherboard. The plug needs to stay flat relative to the motherboard as you slide it to the left.

Thank so much, you help me a lots, It was unplugged
I'll wait in 1 hour as you said then plug it again and turn the power on, let's see what will be happened, hopefully that the heat sink and fan too dirty (I just cleaned tons of dust on the heat sink) make the fan doesn't work so the machine could not turn power on. If my lap work it is amazing, just a hope !

Wow, it's amazing what we have to do for our machines. And it's amazing there's such a great group of people here to help with such problems.
